This is a heavy hitter in GREENWASHING
It’s hard to trust Nestle, Glacéau, Coca-Cola
You guys saw it first
those big brands love to throw around buzzwords to make you feel like you’re drinking a miracle in a bottle. Spoiler alert: You’re not.
First things first what’s the deal with pH? pH stands for the potential of hydrogen. It’s a measure of how acidic or alkaline something is.
So, what’s so special about hydrogen? Hydrogen is the most abundant and simplest element out there. And Hydrogen is a potent antioxidant. Why does that matter? Antioxidants help fight off the oxidative stress that ages you and messes with your cells. Hydrogen is tiny, so it can sneak into your cells, zip across the blood-brain barrier, and work its magic from inside out. And unlike your daily dose of vitamin C, you can’t overdose on hydrogen. Pretty cool, huh?
So what’s the deal with that ORP meter? That fancy ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) meter measures whether a liquid has the potential to oxidize or act as an antioxidant.
In plain English: Is this liquid gonna help you or hurt you?
You see that 9.5 pH label on your bottled alkaline water and think, “Wow, this must be amazing!” But here’s the catch…it’s not naturally alkaline.
That 9.5 pH is artificially boosted with chemicals. It’s not the natural antioxidant powerhouse you might think it is. And about that “whole body hydration” claim from Lifewater…They don’t really explain what that means, do they? It’s like saying, “This water is extra watery.
But let’s break down the ingredients:
RO water reverse osmosis, just stripped-down water.
Magnesium sulfate commonly known as Epsom salt, is not a magic potion.
Potassium bicarbonate a salt, just like in baking soda. It’s not exactly the secret to eternal youth.
Here’s the real question: Why do people think higher pH = better health? Is it the slick marketing? The idea that “alkaline” means it will magically make you healthier? People are looking for something that sounds powerful and beneficial, but in reality, they’re falling for the pH hype.
What do people really want? More energy? Better health? Less stress? Well, the answers are out there, but they aren’t always in a fancy bottle.
I’m here to help you read between the lines. So next time you’re in the store, don’t just grab the bottle with the highest pH. Know what you’re really getting. ![]()

Thank you, I’m always interested to see what different people have to say about water and the alkaline discussion. There’s so much conflicting information out there.
I saw a talk from a guy known as a water sommelier, and he had a lot to say about mineral waters, that was interesting, and then I have a few friends with chemistry PhD’s that I’ve relayed alkaline information with and they’ve had some interesting feedback. (My chemist friends said that ph doesn’t really matter that much because the body regulates it’s own ph and that as long as it’s balanced, not overly acidic and not overly alkaline, that’s what you want. Though I believe that’s the gist of what they said, I’m not totally sure, this was a long time ago we spoke about it. So I could be wrong and so could they.)
Then I’m facebook friends with someone that speaks more about the importance of the electrical charge of water which is quite interesting. I’ll post a video here

Taurin Mcbride Clyde Hawkins oh yeah, I agree and I guess that’s what I was trying to convey because I also agree. What’s the pH hype about? Oh it’s about hydrogen water oh, what is the alkaline about the alkaline is about the pH well the pH is hydrogen. Oh so what’s hydrogen all about it’s actually interconnected and it just so happens that hydrogen is it antioxidant and it’s gonna have a negative charged it’s all related .
There sexiest post I have seen on social media in a while!

It is worthwhile mentioning that the structure of the water is important also.
I was instructed to put a crystal in the water when my baby’s were very young. When my oldest was about 6 years old I saw her standing in front of the fridge with an ice cube tray in her hands. She was standing there for a while and I was wondering why so I asked her, “what are you doing sweetheart?” She said, “I’m putting my love into the water mommy” The next day when we went to get ice cubes we saw that ice crystals had grown out of the frozen water. Some were up to 3 inches tall and very thin and some were short and fat. After this my middle daughter who is 13 months younger wanted to join in so they made it a contest as to who could grow the most crystals. I wish I would have taken pictures. Many years later I heard about Dr. Emoto’s water experiments.
